1 on 1 Physical Therapy
All patients begin with a comprehensive evaluation, assessing dysfunctional movement patterns, muscle imbalances, postural malalignments, joint mobility, and soft tissue restrictions, to identify the nature and source of the pain or injury. Treatment includes modalities and various techniques, such as manual therapy, myofascial release, neuromuscular re-education, and exercises that improve muscle strength, endurance, coordination, flexibility, and joint stability. Emphasis will be placed on core strength and posture correction. Therapy will always be performed 1 on 1 by a Doctor of Physical Therapy.
Pilates Reformer
Pilates is a mind-body workout that strengthens the body as a whole unit, incorporating proper timing of breathing, flowing movements, and core conditioning, in which quality of movement is valued over quantity of repetitions. Pilates elongates and strengthens while improving muscle elasticity, coordination, and joint mobility. Muscle balance is important for reduction of pain and prevention of injury. When no particular muscle group is overtrained or undertrained, the body comes into balance. These techniques ultimately create successful movement patterns which build confidence and carry over to functional tasks, as well as sports performance. Pilates is safe and gentle, yet can be extremely challenging when achieving the advanced level.
Performance Training
With Advanced Physical Therapy Sessions, we help our athlete patients or weekend warriors return to their previous level of sport activity. The Beyond PT Pro Package is a program designed for those who have successfully finished a previously prescribed program, achieved pain-free stage, and wish to advance to a higher level of performance. If necessary, a running analysis will be performed and an in-depth, specific to sport, full body assessment will be used to identify the weak or tight muscles that need further attention in order to achieve specific performance goal. Therapy will be performed at a local gym and will include pre and post work-out treatment such as stretching in sauna, massage, electrical simulation, and cryotherapy at every session.
Massase Therapy
Designed for individuals looking to complement their ongoing Physical Therapy program with extra Massage Therapy time to further incorporate techniques such as Soft or Deep Tissue Massage, Trigger Point Therapy, Myofascial Release, and Lymphatic Drainage into their Therapy Program in order to get the best of their Rehabilitation potential.
Trigger Point Dry Needling
Dry needling is a procedure in which a thin filament needle is inserted into the skin and muscle directly at a Myofascial Trigger Point. A Myofascial Trigger Point consists of multiple contraction knots, which are related to the production and maintenance of the pain cycle. The needles stimulate your muscles, which causes them to contract or twitch. It is essential to elicit the so-called local twitch responses, which are spinal cord reflexes. Getting local twitch responses with trigger point dry needling is the first step in breaking the pain cycle.
Kinesio Taping
The Kinesio Taping® Method is a rehabilitative taping technique that is designed to facilitate the body’s natural healing process. The specialized tape is applied so that it does not restrict the body’s range of motion, but instead provide support and stability to the targeted muscles and joints. By targeting different receptors within the somatosensory system, the tape alleviates pain and facilitates lymphatic drainage by microscopically lifting the skin. This lifting action forms convolutions in the skin, thus increasing interstitial space and allowing for a decrease in inflammation of the target areas. The tape is intentionally applied to the muscle(s) in either a shortened or lengthened position to facilitate muscle contraction or inhibit muscle guarding, respectively.
